At the School of Medicine and Public Health, faculty are employed within six distinct career tracks: Clinical Health Sciences (CHS), Clinician Teacher (CT), Tenured/Tenure, Research Professor, Teaching Professor, and Clinical Adjunct. These tracks have different policies and requirements for promotion and progress at the department, school and institutional level. These resources will help faculty navigate the promotion process, potential career development opportunities, and faculty development workshops to not just survive but thrive at UW-Madison. For more information about your unique track and all tracks at UW-SMPH, please consult the overview of faculty tracks page or individual track pages below. If you are looking for promotions templates and sample documents, review our faculty promotion toolkit. If you are looking for faculty development workshops that support your pathway to promotion, explore our faculty development events page.
