Clinical adjunct track faculty are community clinicians who volunteer their time to aid in the training of learners across the state of Wisconsin (see Statewide Campus). Our clinical adjuncts are very important for achieving our teaching mission. Expectations and guidelines to follow when pursuing appointment to the Clinical Adjunct track. Appendix section ‘Process for New Appointment’ (Page 5) provides a streamlined appointment process description. The process and supporting documents required differs for statewide and department appointments.

Clinical Adjunct Reappointment Guidelines
The ‘Process for Reappointment’ section of the UWSMPH Guidelines for Appointment of Clinical Adjunct Faculty (Page 7) describes the reappointment process. For continuing appointments, this process must be completed every three years.

The Clinical Adjunct appointment termination guideline is available in the ‘Clinical Adjunct Termination’ section of UWSMPH Guidelines for Appointment of Clinical Adjunct Faculty (Page 3). The ‘Reinstatement’ section (Page 7) of that same document may apply to faculty who have recently resigned and wish to return to UWSMPH.

Attachment D is a letter of recommendation template supporting the clinical adjunct faculty appointment. It is required when requesting a new appointment as Clinical Adjunct faculty. Clinical Adjunct faculty may be appointed by a department or the statewide campus. This version of the attachment is for new department appointments. For a department appointment, the letter must be signed by the appointing department chair (or designee).
