This award recognizes an individual whose sustained and exemplary effort as a research mentor has developed medical student researchers outside of the classroom.

2024 Winner

Meghan G. Lubner, MD

Meghan G. Lubner, MD

Dr. Lubner has worked in clinical services and on numerous academic research projects since coming back to the University of Wisconsin in 2008 to pursue an abdominal imaging fellowship. She has co-published well over 100 peer-reviewed papers, most of which have involved medical student mentees or other trainees. Since 2013 she has co-sponsored countless medical students during their summer Shapiro experience, typically taking on 2-3 students per year. She has served as a mentor to student researchers on over 100 poster presentations and oral talks. In 2023 she received the RSNA Lifetime Honored Educator and has served on the Medical Student Research Committee since 2020. She has also been a SAR Liasson since 2019. Dr. Lubner received both her BS and MD from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
