All SMPH academic staff, university staff, and CHS/CT faculty are invited to vote for up to 7 representatives to serve on the SMPH CASI. Voting is now open and will close on Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. You can vote by using your personalized link sent by the Secretary of the Academic Staff on Nov. 10.
Mission
The SMPH Committee on Academic Staff Issues (CASI) shall advise the Dean on the formulation and review, and shall be represented in the development of, all policies and procedures concerning the school’s staff members, including academic, university, and CHS/CT faculty interests.
Vision
The SMPH CASI promotes a positive culture that reflects a welcoming and inclusive destination workplace where staff are engaged, included, empowered and recognized.
Who We Are
CASI represents roughly CHS/CT faculty, university staff, and academic staff members throughout our diverse School of Medicine and Public Health.
In SMPH, staff conduct research, teach courses, meet administrative needs, do outreach in our communities and maintain other roles and responsibilities integral to SMPH operations and mission.
Meeting Schedule
The SMPH Committee on Academic Staff Issues (CASI) meets on the second Monday of each month from 1–2:30 p.m., except for November, which will be on Nov. 17.

Referral Priority
Referral Priority is a service provided by the Office of Human Resources (OHR) to help support eligible employees find new employment after layoff and in some cases, nonrenewal. Employees enrolled in Referral Priority (RP) receive expedited consideration of their job application and are eligible to bypass the full recruitment process.

Ombuds
The Ombuds Office is a safe place where UW-Madison employees can seek guidance regarding workplace concerns at any time, without fear of reprisal, and at no cost to them. Ombuds provide faculty and staff with a confidential place to collaboratively explore complaints, clarify issues, and consider options and resources to address their concerns. Ombuds are impartial and non-aligned, working to promote fairness in the workplace.
