The School of Medicine and Public Health Committee on Academic Staff Issues (CASI) is the only committee in the school that deals exclusively with issues of concern to academic staff.
It was established in 1999 in response to the recommendation of the UW-Madison Academic Staff Assembly that each school and college create a committee to address the unique needs of its academic staff.
CASI membership is structured to reflect the major groupings of academic staff in the School of Medicine and Public Health: research, instruction, clinical, administration, information technology and other areas.
The CASI advises the dean on the formulation and review of all policies and procedures concerning the School’s academic staff members, with the exception of Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) and Clinician-Teacher faculty who participate in SMPH governance with tenure track faculty.
