The School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) Communicators Community of Practice (CCoP) provides educational and networking opportunities for communications professionals working in SMPH departments, centers and institutes, as well as related units throughout the health sciences campus (including the School of Pharmacy, School of Nursing and the School of Veterinary Medicine).
The community of practice hosts monthly events:
- Educational events: In even months, the group hosts educational sessions on the third Thursday from 2-3 p.m. These events are designed to provide a communications-related learning opportunity. Event formats vary and may be online, face-to-face or hybrid, depending on the topic and speaker.
- Networking events: In odd months, the group hosts networking/social gatherings, typically on the third Thursday, at various times. These gatherings have included morning coffee and tours of campus spaces of interest to the science-curious mind.
