The following statements were developed collaboratively as hundreds of learners, staff and faculty submitted more than 1,030 comments in focus groups and surveys from January through June, 2020. They were endorsed by the Dean’s Leadership Team and Dean Robert N. Golden, MD in August and released in September.

The School of Medicine and Public Health underwent a major strategic initiative called Vision 2020 to create a new vision statement, and to provide an opportunity to reflect on our mission and values.
All members of the SMPH community were invited to participate in a survey and in focus groups. The school’s leadership used the results of these activities to draft mission, vision, and values statements, which were circulated widely for comment. A new mission statement, vision statement, and updated values were finalized in August.
