The first step in creating a curriculum requires focusing on the desired learning outcomes and establishing learning priorities: What are the most important things the students should know and be able to do?
Then, determine possible indicators for the learning outcomes that distinguish between students who understand and those who don’t: What is sufficient evidence of understanding?
Last is the planning of learning experiences and instruction: What learning activities and teaching will promote interest and understanding?
