Faculty Policies & Procedures and Faculty Legislation (FP&P)
Faculty Policies & Procedures are the university faculty’s shared governance documents, or the faculty’s “constitution.” FP&P and other faculty legislation lay out, in basic form, the way the university works, including what Departmental Executive Committees do, what the Divisional Committees do, how tenure-track appointments work, the basics of annual reviews, etc.. Tenured/Tenure track faculty are governed by these policies, procedures, & legislation.
UW-Madison Divisional Committee Information
Most SMPH tenure track faculty go up for promotion and tenure through the Biological Science Divisional Committee. However, it is possible to go up through other committees. Discuss with your department chair which committee is appropriate well in advance of submitting your dossier.

UW-Madison & SMPH COVID-19 Clock Extension Policies
SMPH will offer a one-year clock extension for tenure track assistant professor faculty whose scholarly activity was impeded by the COVID-19 pandemic. Read the linked memo for additional information and requirements.
