Elizabeth Burnside MD, MPH, MS
Principal investigator
Dr. Burnside is a Professor of Radiology in the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health with affiliate appointments in the departments of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Population Health Sciences and Biostatistics and Medical Informatics. Dr. Burnside has published over 75 peer reviewed articles and served as a charter member on the Biomedical Imaging Technology (BMIT) Study Section at the NIH. She has been PI on 5 NIH-funded grants and co-investigator on many others.
Dr. Burnside has served on many training grants over the last 5 years. Each of these roles has helped her develop a track-record of mentoring clinician scientists and trainees from translational disciplines in the context of impactful team science. The BIRCWH provides an opportunity to establish a strong platform of mentoring to foster career development in implementation science that will benefit the health of women; advance research on sex/gender influences on health; and encourage interdisciplinary research methodology.
