One important aspect of serving as good stewards of the physical resources in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health is maintaining the facilities that comprise the learning and working environment. Toward this end, an exciting new initiative supported by donor and discretionary funds will allow us to refresh and improve large-format interior décor displays in common areas of the Health Sciences Learning Center and a passageway between HSLC and University Hospital.
Over a span of about four years, this effort will involve installation of artistic and decorative elements on walls of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor of HSLC, the K6 hallway of the Clinical Sciences Center in University Hospital, and the Boxer Family hallway running between the hospital and HSLC. Installations will include both replacing canvas inserts in existing frames and adding new framed panels in areas that currently do not have them.
Members of a work group involved in planning this effort seek input from the SMPH, UW–Madison, and UW Health community about the type of imagery that would be inspirational or pleasing to experience in these spaces.
Deadline extended: Survey closes Feb. 13
All are warmly invited to submit input via a Qualtrics survey found at go.wisc.edu/hslcsurvey. The survey will be open through Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024.
Please encourage other learners and colleagues to respond to the survey. Updates on this project will be shared in future issues of In the Know, the newsletter for members of the School of Medicine and Public Health community.
