To: SMPH employees who applied for parking from UW–Madison Transportation Services in lots located on the west part of campus
Purpose: Share information about an error that requires the Round 1 parking process to be “re-run” with updated dataAction required: No direct action needs to be taken upon receiving this email — Look for an email from Transportation Services by the end of the day Thursday, July 20 that addresses your specific situation. That email will provide detailed information on next steps and when to expect the results of a new parking assignment process.

Dear colleagues,

Due to an internal error at SMPH, incorrect SMPH parking priorities were sent to UW–Madison Transportation Services.  This greatly impacted the Round 1 parking assignment offers released on July 13, and resulted in abnormal parking assignments in SMPH that have significant negative implications for patient care.

Parking applications for annual base lot and Flex permits in lots 60, 74, 75, 76, 82, 95, and 131, must be re-run with the correct information to address the error.

This message is to make you aware of this issue and to assure you that we are working closely with Transportation Services on a solution.  More detailed information and next steps will be shared by Transportation Services with impacted individuals by the end of the day July 20.

NOTE: Parking offers sent on July 13 are no longer valid.  Those who receive a new, correct parking offer and want to accept it must do so by August 1.  Please plan accordingly.  Supervisors should reinforce this deadline with their teams, particularly those who will be out of the office.  Please keep an eye on your email for more information from Transportation Services.

If you have immediate questions, contact healthsciencesparking@mailplus.wisc.edu.

I am deeply sorry this error has occurred.  We realize this will be a substantial inconvenience for SMPH and all our colleagues on the west end of campus.  I am very grateful to our partners in Transportation Services who are truly working around the clock to ensure a speedy correction.

Sincerely,Dean Robert N. Golden
