The UW School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health have been powerful partners in research and healthcare innovation and scientific breakthroughs for decades. With some of the world’s best scientists working alongside pre-eminent health care and public health professionals, we leave no stone unturned in our quest to discover the unknown and make people healthier and their lives better.
Throughout the years, philanthropic support has made a tremendous impact. Philanthropy has helped us to advance research on understanding disease states, develop treatments for diseases once considered fatal, identify evidence-based ways to maintain health at every age, build a children’s hospital, provide direct support for patients in need, fund scholarships for health professions students who can now achieve their dreams, and so much more. The bottom line is that philanthropy has transformed who we are, how we work, and how we care for patients and families. There’s more work to be done, discoveries to make, and lives to save.
Wisconsin Medicine is the philanthropic partnership between the UW School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health. Together, we are engaging our community to stand alongside the brightest minds in research and care to create the future of health for all humankind.
On May 2, we will publicly launch our first-ever, comprehensive philanthropic campaign for Wisconsin Medicine – “The Future Needs Us Now” – as part of this partnership. Our goal through this campaign is to raise $500 million from 100,000 donors by the end of 2025.
Four pillars of the campaign will guide our work:
- Patient Care – Improve patient experiences
- Research – Discover new treatments and cures
- Education – Build the next generation of health care leaders
- Health Equity – Address health disparities
Ensuring that every person in our community, the state, the nation and even the world has the opportunity to live the healthiest life possible is the driving force in everything we do. The goals of this campaign support this endeavor.
To kick-start the next phase of our campaign, from May 2-June 13, donations will be matched, dollar for dollar, by the American Family Insurance Championship or another generous donor. Just imagine how far we can go with this generous matching gift!
