The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health's Academic Planning Council (APC) advises the dean on school programs and budgetary planning, including such matters as:
- Program review and future development or contraction of academic programs within the school
- Strategic planning and long-range planning for the school
- Any other factors relevant to the capacity of the school to fulfill its mission
- Any program decisions likely to affect promotions to tenure or nonrenewal of probationary faculty appointments
The council advises the dean on such matters and presents departmental and school-wide views and opinions. Members are elected for three-year terms.
